Reversion

[edit]

The stuff added by anonymous user on Aug 11, 2005 was copied verbatim from [here]. This material can definitely be used to further develop the article. Saksham 23:00, 13 August 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Fair use rationale for Image:ECI logo.jpg

[edit]

Image:ECI logo.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

About the intro of the article

[edit]

The article states that Election commission is under ownership of ministry of Law and Justice, Government of India. But it is constitutionally autonomous and seperate from executive government i.e government of India. Quantumtunneling (talk) 18:43, 17 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Website inaccessible

[edit]

For quite some time it is extremely difficult to access the website of the Election Commission of India (https://eci.gov.in/). When you try it, you get a timeout. Is there some policy behind this? --Furfur Diskussion 12:05, 30 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]

@VNC200: Is there any reason you keep reverting my addition of the commission's official SVG logo (File:Election Commission of India Logo.svg)? I have retrieved this logo from the Indian government's official presentation website and it is of superior quality to the unofficially traced logo (File:Election Commission of India logo.svg) that you revert to. Yes, because the image which you have added, can be a copyright issue. Please check the website or the source from where you have added this image, which shows whether it's free or not. VNC200 (talk) 04:18, 23 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
@VNC200: There is no copyright issue because there is no copyright at all. Please check the file page, it clearly states that the logo is in the public domain because It does not meet the threshold of originality needed for copyright protection; c:COM:TOO INDIA, states that simple logos such as this one are not copyrightable. A Commons admin has already reverted your CSD tag on the file page.
I would also appreciate it if you left your reasons for reverting in the edit summary next time, instead of just leaving me and everyone else guessing. Thanks, Yeeno (talk) 05:41, 23 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
